Fulfilling an asssignment

My sister had the audacity of giving me a deadline to post pictures of my new home. My deadline isn't until 9:00 tomorrow morning (see comments of last post) so I am technically overachieving here by completing it the night before. Before posting the exterior photo of my newly purchased pad, I want to give you a tour of my old place. It was so cute and though we don't live there anymore- I will give you the full tour (I told you I was a procrastinator). So without further ado:

In the bottom drawer of that Armour I kept my jeans. The middle drawer held kitchen linens and the top drawer housed our tools. It was awesome.

My tiny bedroom- all three rooms were the same size. I gave John our closet since he had to get ready earlier and confiscating Henry's.

The single bathroom- it worked fine for us. Our Bishop's family shared their single bath with their 5 children until just recently when they were able to upgrade.

Coming from me you have to take what you can get and you should feel pretty pleased that I actually fulfilled your assignment (I know I am). Perhaps you'll have to assess my blog more often=)

Disney World

I have a problem- blogging has become the equivalent of homework for me. Not only that- but as a student I was a chronic procrastinator and thus I procrastinate each new post. Since I have no real deadline, this can be quite the problem. Sorry folks I guess I just need to change my attitude. Blogging is fun! I contemplated posting "RIP Wendy's blog"- but I resisted. So thanks for hanging in there. It has been an eventful few months. We made it to Ohio, lived with John's awesome brother and sister in law- were in contract for a house, said house fell through, we then were homeless, and now I am back in California at my parents, John is in a motel in Columbus and we are waiting to close on another house. All I can say is that it has been a wild 2 months.

I did say , however, that I would post pictures of our Disney World trip- so even though it has been 3 and a half months since we were there. Here you go. Knock yourself out beholding the glory of the fun times we had.

Some beach. We weren't quite prepared for the 30-ish degree weather that greeted us for the first few days of our vacation. Fortunately it got gradually warmer each day and by day 8 the weather was quite pleasant.

Some restaurant. A yummy pizzeria I believe. Don't worry I didn't put pictures up of every meal.

The Magic Kingdom - very like Disneyland but with some very distinct differences (rides layout, etc.). My favorite park of the 4 that grace the Florida countryside.

On the boat that takes you to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom (you can only get there by boat or train -kinda fun).

The castle is significantly larger than Disneyland's.

Epcot. Natalie took our picture in the Canadian section of Worlds' Showcase. The flower baskets on the light post reminded me of the kind you see in Victoria, British Columbia which we visited on our honeymoon. Awww. Side note- World Showcase is seriously awesome. It features about a dozen countries making you feel you have stepped inside them briefly by capturing their unique music, architecture, food, and people. Loved it.

It was on this trip that Natalie become a roller coaster junkie. Forget Dumbo- Natalie prefers Space Mountain.

Henry called this the "big ball." There is actually an educational ride inside it.

Digging for fossils at Disney's Animal Kingdom. This park is new since the last time I was at Disney World when I was 15. It is a cool park which includes a huge safari ride complete with grazing African animals. Way cool.

This cool (fake) tree has hidden animals carved in it's trunk, branches and roots.

The best part about this trip was the price. Each of the 4 parks were free. We used our miles to fly there and our parents' Christmas gift money to cover our motel and rental car. Our only expense was food and a few souveniers. Pretty sweet- so you see we had to go =)

A highlight of the trip was our character breakfast at the Contemporary Resort Hotel. The kids loved the attention from Mickey and the gang.

What I've been doing

Yup, those are moving boxes. While on a lovely family vacation to Disney World last month (pictures to come) John got an offer he couldn't refuse from Cardinal Health.....plus he knew the Disney job wasn't going to be a long term career opportunity.
So, we will now be relocating to....drum roll please.......Dublin, Ohio!! (Just outside of Columbus folks). I guess we will have to become Ohio State fans now.
Good thing we took advantage of the free Disney World admissions when we did.....phew.
